Working Principle of Crown Capping Machine
Filled bottles move on the conveyor belt, and they are then fed into an in-feed star wheel of in-feed worm. During their movement in feed start wheel, caps are picked by bottles one by one from the delivery chute. Descending rotary sealing heads are used to hold the bottles’ neck with desired pressure. A rotating scramble is facilitated to accurately position the caps mechanically and the sealing is done in a programmed roll-in fashion. When the chute is filled up after the caps are directed into it, the rotating unscramble drive gets disengaged. This helps prevent any damage to the caps. Rotating sealing head brings into action the sealing roller and sealing cam is also there to facilitate the movement of sealing and threading rollers. The sealed bottles are then discharged using a star wheel on the conveyor.

FAQ of Crown Capping Machine
Which types of bottles can the Crown Capping Machine handle?
The machines are ideal for capping glass, plastic, PET, LDPE, HDPE, and other bottle types. They support container diameters from 24 mm to 90 mm and heights from 50 mm to 250 mm, with common crown cap diameters of 20 mm, 25 mm, and 28 mm (via change parts).
What are the key features of the Crown Capping Machine?
Key features include cGMP compliance, stainless-steel contact parts for durability, a “No-bottle, No-Cap” system, optional container overturn machine-stop mechanism, easy size changeover using a single ratchet, digital production output counter, safety clutch on the star wheel to prevent jamming/overloading, easy hopper dismantling for cleaning, VFD speed control, single-motor synchronization, and optional PLC with GUI or IQ/OQ documentation.
How does the Crown Capping Machine work?
Filled bottles move on the conveyor and are fed into an in-feed star wheel or worm. Caps are picked one by one from the delivery chute. Descending rotary sealing heads hold the bottle necks under pressure, while a rotating unscrambler accurately positions the caps. Sealing occurs via programmed roll-in action using sealing rollers and cams. Sealed bottles are then discharged via a star wheel onto the conveyor. The unscrambler disengages when the chute is full to protect the caps.
